Posterization - We like this effect as it almost exactly as we wanted the comic to look with the blurred, poster style edges and blocks of colour as apposed to the smooth blended colours usually found!
Your idea is very original and fits in with the feel of the song brilliantly. The research on your blog gives me a strong impression of your overall mise en scene.
The picture above is from Sky Captain the movie. This movie uses an effect which makes the shots look as though they have been sketched. This is an effect that we hope to find on final cut to use in our music video.
We like this example of a star trek comic as it does all the things that are typically in comics. As you can see the speech bubbles illustrating the narrative have been used, this is very common in comics. We intend to use this technique in our video to illustrate the narrative and possibly the lyrics of the song. Another thing that has been used that is very typical in comics is the use of big, bold words to illustrate dramatic actions and noises. For example: "WHAM!" We also intend to use the big, bold words.
Above we have a picture of an example of how we intend to split the screen up in the form of a comic book style set up.All locations will be around the Long Road Sixth Form area. We came to this decision because it will make it easier on the group since me and Adam find it easy to get to this area. Also we have permission to film around this area so we don't need to go to the hassle of finding out if we are allowed to film.
Cajun Dance Party are an English 5-piece indie band from London. Despite still being in sixth form, they released their debut single, The Next Untouchable, on April 16th on WayOutWest Records which was voted NME track of the week on 9th April 2007. It was first played on Radio 1 on 26th February 2007 by Steve Lamacq, and was voted as being the best demo of 2006. The Next Untouchable was released in March 2007 and limited to only 1000 copies, as well as being sold on iTunes.
On April 19th they played the Camden Crawl along with acts including Air Traffic,New Young Pony Club and Jack Penate.
They were later signed to XL Recordings for an undisclosed sum. They are managed by Keith Anderson who also manages London bands such as Late of the Pier, The Video Nasties and Laura Marling.
In June they played at Glastonbury Festival, before embarking on their first UK tour in July which included dates in Manchester, Edinburgh, Glasgow and London. On 24th and 25th August they played the Reading and Leeds Festivals among bands such as Red Hot Chili Peppers, Arcade Fire, Smashing Pumpkins and Fall Out Boy.
I can't believe, I can't deny
Genre: Indie
A key characteristic of clothing trends within the modern indie culture is focus on uniqueness and individuality,[2] which is often achieved by appealing to fashion trends associated with music from the 1970s (rock, punk and country) and the 1980s (New Wave). Common clothing items include band T-shirts (see Paul Maiorana), vintage clothing, striped tops, blazers, waistcoats, ties, cardigans, skinny jeans and Converse Chuck Taylor All-Stars. A somewhat counterintuitive result of this is that though individuality is prized, or at least vocally espoused, indie culture does have an identifiable look, making it less than truly individual and more like any other subculture. This is particularly evident in the case of the Converse Chuck Taylor All-Stars shoes which has become the most successful brand of shoe in history, as a result of the make being prized for its "independent" style. Surprisingly, the increase in demand for "Chucks" has, as of late, driven up the market price for the once-inexpensive footwear.
