Comic Books - Ideas

The picture above is from Sky Captain the movie. This movie uses an effect which makes the shots look as though they have been sketched. This is an effect that we hope to find on final cut to use in our music video.

Here is a black and white example of a comic book. We like the look of this comic strip as the black and white gives the comic a serious look this type of comic book would fit great with a New York Noir gangster film. The films that this reminds me of would be Sin City, the film uses a sketched affect and that is the effect that we would be looking to achieve accept that we would want it in colour. We think that if we used black and white it would spoil the songs upbeat feel.
We like this example of a star trek comic as it does all the things that are typically in comics. As you can see the speech bubbles illustrating the narrative have been used, this is very common in comics. We intend to use this technique in our video to illustrate the narrative and possibly the lyrics of the song. Another thing that has been used that is very typical in comics is the use of big, bold words to illustrate dramatic actions and noises. For example: "WHAM!" We also intend to use the big, bold words.
Above we have a picture of an example of how we intend to split the screen up in the form of a comic book style set up.
